Tem-plate
(tem´plit´) n. A
pattern, used as a guide in shaping something accurately.

Microsoft FrontPage is also able to
utilize web templates. A
template is simply a design format that allows consistency on every page. For example,
once I had set up the page lay-out of this site to my satisfaction, I created my own page
template. Now, when I need to add a page, one click gives me the background, images and
all the links in the menu bar laid out precisely as originally designed. I simply add the
needed text and the page is done. It is a great time saver as well as a guarantee of
consistency in color and text.
A template can be as simple as one page you use over
and over to 10-15 different page layouts with certain consistent elements. To see what I
mean, open FrontPage, choose *Create a new web* and then choose *From a template*. You
will notice there are several variations of templates for you to choose from. Some simple,
some more complex.
A template is a good alternative to a theme if your web
host does not have the needed FrontPage extensions installed.
If you are using Microsoft FrontPage and need a
template designed for your business I can help. Template
design can be from one page to multi-page (as many as you need to get your business
information presented in the most advantageous way). For additional information please
click the *web site design* link in the left column.
Delivery is easy. Once the template meets your approval
it is uploaded to a special url. Upon receipt of payment, you are e-mailed the url. You
can download to your computer and a single click will install the template into FrontPage.
It is now ready for you to use. |
